Kasolo Joseph
He was the founder of the Democratic party (DP) in 1954. DP was also formed to fight for Uganda's independence.
Mugwanya Matayo
He took over the Democratic Party leadership from Joseph Kasolo in 1956. He later also handed over the Democratic Party leadership to Benedicto Kiwanuka.
